Two Important Questions are Asked:

Who do Men say I am? (16:13)

The answers: John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

Who do You say I am?

Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (16:16)

Peter's Gaffs

His practice didn't match his proclamation.

His concept of the Kingdom was faulty.

He provided an avenue of temptation for Jesus.

He allowed human reasoning to override spiritual discernment.

Conclusion

Who do you say I am?

The questions that Jesus asked early in the chapter still have significance: Who do men say that I am?

But the most important question still is: Who do you say that I am? Among all the gods, amid all the pursuits of your life, with all the theories that clamor in your brain, who do you say he is?
