of Holiness
Why Bother with Leviticus?
- Paul is right.
- All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may
be thoroughly equipped for every good work. - II Timothy 3:16-17
- The fundamental concern of Leviticus should be a fundamental concern for
the church: holiness
- You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have
set you apart from the nations to be my own. - Leviticus 20:26 (also
Lev. 11:44-45; Lev. 19:2)
- The principles underlying the specific instructions about holiness in Leviticus
are eternal in nature.
