Rampant Destruction

As you know, rampant fires have continued to burn for weeks in California destroying over eleven hundred square miles of land, (an area roughly the size of Rhode Island) consuming personal property of over a billion dollars in value and taking the lives of local residents and firefighters. More than two thousand five hundred homes have been destroyed and it is now the most expensive natural disaster in the state's history.

But this terrible ongoing event isn't the most devastating, costly or ravaging force sweeping across our nation or the world. John 10 reveals that Satan's mission statement is to ìsteal, kill and destroy.î The fire in California makes the headlines and brings attention to the immediacy of the event while Satan's plan to destroy the world never makes a splash on CNN. Satan's destruction is insidious and below the radar. People are being destroyed and don't even recognize it.

That's where our ìmission statementî meets Satan's. We have both the responsibility and the privilege of informing the world of the impending doom associated with Satan's undercurrent of influence and the good news of a solution offered by God. Can we in good conscience enjoy the blessings and hope associated with life in Christ while others plummet unknowingly into Satan's furnace?
